trust me, they do...did some research n grab some pics from web..too bad cant prove by taking them myself..

but, there was someone trying to explain to me what milky way is about..n guess, i personally seen that already!
The Milky Way, or the galaxy, has many names in Punjabi, among them Akash Ganga (Ganga of the sky), and Gati-Dhuli (dust of the cow's hooves). According to a very popular myth, the Milky Way is a counterpart of the Ganga we know on earth.

Peoples in Eastern Asia believed that the hazy band of stars was the "Silvery River" of Heaven (Chinese: 銀河, Korean: eunha and Japanese: ginga). In one story, the stars Altair and Vega were said to be two lovers who were allowed to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh month, when a flock of magpies and crows formed a bridge over the galactic river. That day is celebrated as Qi Xi, the Seventh Night (Chinese: 七夕, Korean: chilseok and Japanese: tanabata).

In Egyptian mythology, the Milky Way was considered a pool of cow's milk. It was deified as a fertility cow-goddess by the name of Bat

In the Hindu collection of stories called Bhagavata Purana, all the visible stars and planets moving through space are likened to a dolphin that swims through the water, and the heavens is called śiśumãra cakra, the dolphin disc. The Milky Way forms the abdomen of the dolphin and is called Akasaganga which means "The Ganges River of the Sky"

While the Xhosas believe that the Milky Way are the bristles of an angry dog, the most popular African myth attributes their existence to a strong-willed African girl. This girl became so angry when her mother refused to give her any more delicious roasted root that she grabbed the roots that were roasting on a nearby fire and threw their ashes into the sky. The red and white ashes became the red and white stars that make up the Milky Way.

interesting yea~~

if you wanna pretend the airplanes in the night sky like shooting stars, dont be~ cause it always occur in few minutes time....sooOO,u could make a wish now~~ *wink*
